Bug defeats Dark and Psychics because it's a simpleminded creature which mind can't be controlled or tricked. They are aware of their surroundings differently, by pheromones, compound-eyes and for them these are just as regular as normal moves. Tricksters just aren't used to be as helpless and that's why they are weak to bugs. Additionally Bug represents one of fears to which Psychic is vulnerable.
This is the best explanation I know.

It's strong against Psychic because of bug phobias, like fear of ghosts.
