You haven't been able to "Catch" 'Em All in a single game, most Pokemon are only obtainable through gift or evolution.

Masuda said in October of last year that they would try their hardest to include every Pokemon and that they know people would be upset if they cut any. The decision was a recent one and I wonder what went wrong in development.

Sourcing it for this Anon. It also baffles me that they revealed that Dexit was actually planned for SM. Which means that at the time of this interview, SnS were already well in development. So Dexit was either already decided upon OR at the very least on the table and being heavily discussed. Yet he dares to say this shit. I wanna get of Mr.Masuda's wild ride ;_;

It wasn't planned for SM, they just said that they barely managed to get all the Pokemon into it. I don't see why it would be an issue when they can just add the rest in through patches, though. That is exactly what Level-5 aims to do with Yo-Kai Watch 4.

Yeah, the day and age we live in means patches for that sort of content are a possibility if it really is that big of a time crunch to meet release windows. Home isn't coming out for months until after the release anyway, so nobody is demanding that transfers be possible at launch.

The issue is that they've said in other sources that it was going to be a design change moving forward, which is the real problem. All they need to do to smooth this over is promise a patch to allow for the transfer of old mons, and then deliver on that at some point before the next set of games come out.
