Necrozma can absorb light yes but it's been stated that the only light that actually boosts him must come from either Solgaleo or Lunala, or the z-stones (as they were a part of him).

The Mother analogy isn't really a good analogy for literal Gods.
Arceus can control Time and Space, however he created Dialga and Palkia to do it in his stead. Plus the entire HG/SS event with him creating a member of the creation trio just to flex on Cynthia and the player shows him seemingly speeding up time (therefore him controlling time) in a new born universe (therefore him controlling) space, just so he can extract the creation trio egg from it.

What about Kyurem?

Base Kyurem froze an entire region, and the Pony can go toe to toe with his second forms. We still don't know what the Perfect Kyurem is capable of but it's probably a hell of a strong Pokemon, probably on pair with Primal Groudon, Kyogre.

OKAY FAGGITS HERES THE OBJECTIVELY CORRECT TIERING FOR THE POWERS OF THE LEGENDARIES
Arceus is the most powerful as it created the entirety of the Pokémon multiverse, essentially every game sold is its own universe, and shits out the concept of time, space, and anti-matter in physical form for each universe.
Then it’s the creation trio for having their own universes and the fact that Dialga breaths time and Palkia’s heartbeat controls space. Giratina just is comparable to them both.
Fucking powergap to Ultra Necrozma which can output enough light to light up a universe and burn a fucking Solar System to ash.
And YES, I’m talking about straight up feats, calculations, and power levels.
Up next is Solgaleo and Lunala, Mewtwo, Zygarde, and fuck it; Mega Fug. All these fuckers have the capability to destroy the planet.
Then comes Kyogre and Groudon who put the moon to shame.
Don’t forget Xerneas and Yveltal who yielded enough energy in s weakened state to fuck the earth with the ultimate weapon.
The Tao trio is next since Zekrom and Reshiram face fucked the Unova region in a fight between pussy shit beliefs.
Every other legendary, unless I’m missing some shit, scales to Moltres
putting out enough energy to change the seasons with its heat.

Why did he create Dialga and Palkia? If Arceus can govern time and space, why doesn't he? It's just speculation to assume Arceus has these powers when all we've really seen is the power to create life, albeit life that is itself able to create a universe.

Why isn't the mother analogy absolutely appropriate in this situation? Each of the gods is clearly limited, else we wouldn't have this thread. All I'm seeing is Christians who need an all-powerful creator to worship and cannot into polytheism.

Since they didn't do much with Arceus in game I think in the gen 4 remakes they will have it in the post game. Arceus will probably become the strongest again once it gets some type of primal form or whatever they go with this time

Also, a few years back there was some guy who did a meta-analysis of all the in-game pokemon and their possible movesets and pitted them against each other in countless 1v1s, and then ranked them. Long story short, Arceus and Mewtwo came out tied for first place. They each had so much variability in their movepool that few other mons could match, backed with ridiculous stats. They could always defeat any mon they faced in-game. And against each other, they would just continue trading wins back and forth.

I think that depends on how you define canon. Your meta-analysis makes sense for "canon = ingame stats".
But someone else might think of canon as the pokedex entries and gameplay being a very limited representation of how Pokemon actually fight. Someone else still might pull anime and movies or even spinoff series into the canon. And then there's always the "alternate timelines, alternate rules" tableflip.
