>>39089094there are several ghost types that are not really ''ghosts'' but are living creatures capable of harnesing spirit or soul energy, while others are beings composed mostly of said soul energy or energy that has concentrated within and object or was shaped by a living being (this is almost always completely involuntary and most cases are products of extremely emotional or traumatic experiences) or another ghost (wich to a degree can be considered a form of reproduction),
this kind of ghost are not alive in the traditional sense as they dont have many of the things that carachterise a living being, like a solid body, and they dont participate in the food chain like most other Pokemon do, they could be considered predators to a degree but they dont consume the nutrients from a body rather than the spirit energy or soul, some ghosts will just take small amounts of said spirit energy from living Pokemon acting more like a parasite. while others will be fully predatory and will kill their prey in order to feed, one curious detail about this is that many Pokemon would gladly feed from the carcass once a ghost is done with it, while other predators will deliberately avoid it.
>>39089177>>39089191in the case of pokemon like yamask rather than a traumatic experience the pokemon are shaped by the culture and lifestyle of the populations around places of worship or strong spiritual energy like graveyards, or in this case tombs.
While pokemon like golurk were created by people who more or less understood how this process works and managed to concentrate said spiritual energy within a construct of their own making.
a common practice for ghost owners is to also own a pokemon that produces soul energy in excess in order to fullfill the needs of the ghosts,so its common for ghost enthusiasts to own a Lucario, (pokemon that learn moves like focus blast, aura sphere, healing beam are common for this practice)
