Just preordered the new Digimon 20th anniversary vpet. Up on GS and amazon, 4 colors.

Its amazing that you have those and their batteries still work. Theres online play with the new ones, it gives you a code and password for an account, I dont know if the old ones work with that or not

Yes, several reasons. Biggest reason being that these 20th anniversary ones have the full roster of all 5 original versions (you pick your egg at the start). It's essentially a 5-in-1 deal.

It has nothing to do with colors. The U.S. originally only got version 1 (released in different colors, though). We never got versions 2, 3, 4 and 5. Each version had an entirely different roster of Digimon. This 20th anniversary release has ALL the Digimon from those original 5 versions combined.
