OP, I've been a huge pokéfag since I played my older brother's Red Version in 1998 (I was six years old).
I've played at least one game in every generation since then.
I've been playing all the "third versions" I missed out on since last January. I've finished Yellow, Crystal, and Emerald so far. And played Colosseum for the first time, too.

All in anticipation of Sword & Shield -- the true home console pokémon mainline debut.

Only to find out that the trend started in X & Y of Gamefreak being shitty devs (which continued into Sun & Moon) has not just continued again, but gotten worse.

I cancelled my pre-order. And I'm taking a little break from the series before I come back for Platinum, HGSS, and B2W2.

But after that...I might be done with the series. Maybe I'll get a copy of Ultra Moon and transfer all my pokémon into it. Or maybe I'll never come back.

It's going to be okay, OP. It's alright if the series dies. Even if it's just dead for you and I personally.
Happened to Metal Gear. It'll happen to others, too.

I mean at this point atleast we still get the nation dex on a damn $60 dollar game. That would be great news. It won't happen though

Bringing back the nat dex will make the game from unplayable to at least bearable for me. I play Pokemon for the Pokemon. I will hate it overall but at least I can fill my time by completing the Dex.

This is the truth. Pokemon is dying. Not because of the n64 tree or dexit. But because of sales. Look at the latest game sales. They are slowly decreasing. To the point Pokemon will no longer be profitable and they will simply put it as C series project.

I picked gen 5 as my "latest gen" and I am playing that. I wish I had the online features, but I can't complain.
