Lets say they add in game crafting professions. The more you craft the more you increase your skill level. The higher level your skill, the better items you can make.
Engineer - Allows for the crafting of TM's allows for the crafting of some neat items such as the item finder and ultimately how you obtain a Porygon instead of a game counter paywall.
Ball Smith - Craft balls as a cheaper alternative to purchasing. Maxing out this profession gives you a masterball.
Chemist - Creates potions and revives and things of that nature. High level you can make max revives and other rare items like that. Which are usually in short supply.
Farmer - You turn your starter home into a farm by catching certain pokemon and adding them to your farm. Such as miltank for a steady supply pf moomoo milk, shuckle for a steady supply of rare candies. You can also create orchards for berries, apricorns, etc.
