Why was there a pokemon black/white 2?

I only occasionally play the games on an emulator, last game I played was white 1 and now playing the second one it doesn't feel any different

I don't get why it was necessary

You get to see what happened to the characters in BW. In terms of gameplay, PWT, updated movesets and move tutors. The latter has no reason not to be in the first installment, but GF does this every gen.

Gen 5 was GF trying to be creative and mix things up. It also added a ton of content, I would prefer a direct sequel to the same game with a few minor details anyway.

Noob zones are different, wow what exciting new content, once you get to the big city and the game actually begins you do the same loop anyway

I am actually being honest here when I say I thought these sequels were made because there were some glaring flaws in the original black/white games, but apparently that wasn't the case? They just wanted to cash in?

I personally really liked pokemon white, much better than the previous 2 gens
