Pokemon games by design can't do this. Pokedex entries are flavor text that have no barring on gameplay, which, personally, I find great. I don't play Pokemon games for an accurate simulation of the world of Pokemon; I play them because I like the particular mechanics and style they offer. Now a super detailed Pokemon simulator of, say, Dwarf Fortress or Aurora 4x levels of complexity would be fucking amazing.
Aesthetics especially, games shouldn't conform exclusively to "real life", unless the world the game is trying to depict just so happens to look like ours. Pokemon's world is not such world, and I would never had liked Pokemon if it did.
Pokemon don't look like real beasts, they look like Pokemon.
