Gamefreak won't do anything, they just make Pokémon games because they're forced to by Nintendo.

They should just give the game to another studio

Slow it down even sluggishly than Gen IV, so kids have more time to think and appreciate the beauty.
Remove one moveslot to make the game easier for beginners to pick up, and give veterans less of an unfair advantage.
Items now are basically abilities and very plentiful, and abilities don't give effects that are particularly useful, just like items.
Terrain changes randomly and can even spawn hazards like Stealth Rocks without the move being used.
Pokemons' moves have little to do with the design they're based on.
