Alola doesn't lend itself well to a movie environment because of the limited locations and bloated cast, everyone would get even LESS screentime and the movie-only characters would only add to the bloat.

Yeah, no. We had individual writing in OS-XY too in the form of CotDs. The only difference is those CotDs are now recurring characters in SM. The writing is Shit either way. The anime was never good to begin with

But that's wrong, the animation sometimes doesn't really fuck up in filler episode, actually in some fillers there is better animated scene than the important ones, remember the necrozma arch's ending episodes were atrocious, while a filler episode where they go to the SPA for relaxing the flymons of the ultra-team were really pretty good.
