So just asking out of curiosity, what made following pokemon so popular? Was it because of Yellow, HGSS, or even the anime? Or some other reason?

I've pretty much accepted that GF would likely do this. Hey, if the Let's Go remakes retain all the Pokémon unlike the mainline games, then maybe I'll just buy those instead. Used, of course.
