Unova isn't america you dumb flyover stater, it's a japanese interpretation of the diversity of N.Y.
That's why there's so much japanese and chinese and European stuff in unova like the taoism themes, the european bridges, and japanese landmarks and school uniforms.
Also clay shouldn't exist, if it was a southwest region sure, but it wasn't. Does N.Y. have so little of its own that gf had to just use stuff from other parts of the U.S. and the world?
