He's already one of the VERY few people at Game freak HQ to have directed two Game Freak-produced games already and I suspect after they asked him to make an other-worldly pokémon the people in that world would choose as a starter pokémon last Gen out (and it was very successful to boot), They've given him the mandate to create a starter line for Galar (My money's on Scorbunny, if so). Man's becoming a rock-star of the newer/younger Game Freak staff in-house and they love him (the team gets a kick at seeing his pokémon design notes written in English and of course he was asked by one of the other designers to help finalise Bruxish too).
