The game may not have routes that circle back on eachother like Kanto but there's so much fucking shit to explore in pretty much every single area in that god damn game.
The amount of shit there is to do and find in routes, cities and side-areas is only beaten by Gen 4.
Seriously, go play through either set of Gen 5 games right now. There is such a ridiculous amount of new shit that you can find and get as you gain new HMs, with BW it's lesa prevalant as you have to backtrack and that's definitely where they could've done better, but it's still there.
BW2 fixes that problem by addiny new areas you can explore without HMs before you get them all, and by the time you do you'll be able to hit up all the good spots without too much backtracking.
I seriously feel as if people who relentlessly rag on these games haven't played them in or long while or haven't played BW2 which fixed a majority of the problems they most likely had with BW.
Try em out, BW2 are top tier.
