When Red and Blue came out, was there a way to hack Pokemon into the game?
I imagine that before breeding and hacking like pokesav, this may have been the only time Pokemon were truly valuable. Where trading for Pokemon you couldn't catch in your game must have felt like the coolest thing in the world, where you got a starter set for life, and winning a battle where you had to make do with the limited TMs the game gives you must have been extra satisfying.
Of course this idea of mine gets BTFO if hackers already existed back then.
