>>39139666Would agree but Trump represents lazy cynicism as "truth". Like the kind of "truth" that says that enjoying chubby/fat people is the result of trying to be nice, and not y'know, actually liking those kinds of people (spoilers, people enjoy different things).
As a Bernie guy, I do think he leans to ideals more than what's actually possible, but imo that's what we've lost as a nation since the 60s that boomers look so fondly back upon -- our ambition to improve and go beyond was left in that era.
Like why not move to a cleaner energy source/overall means of production (reusables)? Even IF it's a big conspiracy to get someone rich (idk even who that would be, but just entertaining the idea), the same could be said of the fossil fuel industry anyway, so that "truth" about "climate change being a hoax that benefits no one" is flawed, even if it turned out that climate change is a hoax -- because regardless of that, green energy benefits everyone present and future.
Point being, truth is often influenced by ideals. What's really possible is only ever improved or changed by new ideals being at the center of attention.
