XY is a wild outlier at 450 or so, SM had 302 exactly. 2 of those 302 were event only in marshadow and magearna, and they weren't needed to get the shiny charm, so the dex was complete without them, so 300.
expect between 200 and 300. hoping for more than flat 300 is folly, as XY was the showcase for the new models they made for pokedex 3d pro.
we've seen ~175 pokemon so far with prevo and evo included. 12 are galar new. 3 of those twelve will be guaranteed to have two more evolutions, as they're the starters. don't want to make assumptions about the others shown. so 18 galar pokemon. they tend to have between 50-70 new pokemon for the last few generations.
so. with about 150 pokemon shown so far old pokemon, 70 new galar to get to 220, and a smattering of others thrown in, guess about a solid 250. plus or minus.
