When is it acceptable to use legendaries in-game?

I like to roleplay and make autistic characters so on my last run of BW I caught the event Victini and made him my ace.

It's always "okay". If that's your idea of fun and you enjoy have legendaries on your team, go do it man. Enjoy and who cares what anyone else says.

I personally wouldn't want something that powerful on my team for in-game purposes. I like to put restrictions on my team so that the game doesn't become easier than it already is. And if I do select a mon that's a little stronger, I'll try to make sure that they have their weaker ability.

I like to imagine that Hilbert kept Victini as a seventh party member but didn’t use it for battle.

I think using Keldeo and Genesect in BW2 is fine, since you can come up with your own little story for them since imo they should have had more of a role in the games’ story.
