Fpbp. That’s a good way to summarize the debate. But objectively had more care and art direction then all gens after. Some lines are one stage longer than necessary some designs are duds but most aren’t and we got 156 mons so that’s all that really matters because I only dislike about 7 of them. Better than gen 1 in that regard

Personally I wasn't the biggest fan of these games but every next generation they've created was even worse.
All in all it was descent, though I hated half of the designs especially starters.
The peak of Pokémon franchise at least for me was gen 4.

Black and White are not "soul" they have the worst region, worst story, too much gameplay interuption to force more story down your throat, shitty pokemon designs, even shittier levels for evolution with many two-stages not evolving until 50, and still no battle frontier.
