Whats the deal with this game getting mentioned all the time now?

I've noticed people mention SS in like every other thread these days. Why is it such a discussed topic? Did something happen? Is there going to be a remake?

People keep condensing Sword and Shield as SS

Soul Silver is shortened to SS

Sometimes people refer to a specific game in a pair with just its initial if it's a long ass name like Fire Red (FR), Alpha Sapphire (AS), or Soul Silver (SS)

This is why people have tried to make SwSh, SnS, and S/S catch on
