Is a pokemon's nature completely independent of other parameters or is it determined by IVs or something like that?
Can editing nature (except in the case of event mons with fixed natures) ever make a pokemon illegal?

I think as of gen v they are independent but I would check project pokemon or something dude.

Natures aren't tied to IVs, they're independent.
Only Hidden Power is determined by IVs, and even that can be solved with Hyper Training (get the HP you want -> Hyper Train to 5IV)

you can fully generate pokemon and they'll be legal, your all good.
