29 years old pokefag here, started with Pokémon Blue in 1999. For me, Gen V is the peak of the franchise.
It was the perfect balance between a soft reboot and being able to still use your mons from older gens when you beat the league.
It was supposed to lead the way into more mature games without going into tryhard edgelord zone. You can tell a lot of soul (inb4 meme) was poured into these games, specially when BW2 was a sequel and not the typical 3rd version cashgrab. Seriously, all that those games needed to be perfect was following Pokémon and Pokethlon minigames copypasted into it.
But you retards had to shit on it because "muh icecream, muh trashbag", and not being able to see Zubat, Tentacools and Geodudes every two steps. Thanks to you, Gen VI came, which is the worst ever. Albeit I depised them at first, looking at shit like Z moves and Dynamax, the only good thing that ever came from Gen VI was megaevolution (but only for Pokémon that needed it like Kanga and Mawile).
Then you ate up Pokémon Let's Go, and you will eat up Sword and Shit. You destroyed the franchise for shitting on Gen V for petty reasons.
Gen V were the last good Pokémon games (IMO the best), and a golden closure to the DS-era Pokémon.
