Another point is that the animations in GoD are way shorter than in Colosseum. Just watch a video of both games for comparison. Also, the battles in GoD are resolved much faster, and they are overall much more dynamic than in Colosseum, GenVI and GenVII (examples of design changes that makes then more dynamic than the 3DS games: Pokémon attack simultaneously while their attack is announced; stats changes while the message is shows and last only a second; UI animation is faster).
