I wanted a GameBoy Micro just to replay my GB games but then I realized how retarded it would be to go out of my way to play on a bitch small screen even if in the end I'm just going play in my living room.

I'm currently replaying Crystal on my 3DS XL

- advance is fine, but didn't play much on it
- sp is my most used one but it's nothing special as far as comfortability is concerned
- micro is fine except eye cancer after playing for longer than 15min

Micro is an overpriced meme, the GBA SP-101 is the best, though I don't mind my DSi XL either.
The GBA had probably the best layout but it desperately needed the screen the SP-101 had. All of the 3DS models have been pretty uncomfortable unfortunately.
The Brick might actually be the most comfortable in terms of literal comfort though, that screen just makes it so much worse

Just browse around for custom parts, or just try an eBay listing somewhere? Is there a good price range to look for?

Is fairly easy to change the screen yourself. I got the 101 screen for 50 something € and a new case for 8 €. Pic related, the difference is even greater that it looks there.

GPD XP or a self made device. PSP is also quite good from what I hear. I've also got a PocketGo Retro Gaming System in the mail at the moment, looks alright for GB-GBA.
