Thorton has a random team. Idk why he has Bronzong though. My guess is that the technological theme in addition to his intelligence makes it fitting for a Steel/Psychic Pokemon.
Red's ace is Mega Charizard X because of Origins, Charizard shilling, and the fact that your player character has Pikachu as a starter.
Blue doesn't use Eevee in any game he appears in except for Yellow. His signature appears to be Pidgeot.
If Green appears, her signature is probably going to be Blastoise.
With that said, it is very likely that we'll get trainers with multiple Pokemon, with each gacha having a different artwork and Pokemon. For instance, I can't see Misty not going without Psyduck as a future Pokemon (her ace is Starmie here) due to Masuda's obsession with shilling Psyduck into everything he gets his grubby hands on.
