This is exactly what I think of when looking back on previous game mechanics from gens 6 til now.
Megas: Larger tweaked designs with boosted stats/abilities
Totem Pokémon: Larger form with an Aura boost
Dynamax: Inflated forms and boosting hp for three fucking turns.
I enjoyed megas but now it seems like they are just adding unnecessary mechanics just to feel like they are branching out and being different each new generation. Really, it just gets bigger. I don’t understand what game freak is trying to do here. Why do they feel the need to make things bigger to please the fans or story? You’re probably thinking, “well, it’s to make it challenging for the players.”From the looks of it, it doesn’t seem like that big of a challenge.
All game freak needs to do is give us a good story, cool new mons and something fun to do in post game.
