I fucking loved it. I had big plans man. I bought all the gen 4 games (ss/hg, d/p/plt) then I got black2/white2 caught close to 300 something Pokémon. Even got lucky with a cart that had a full box of shinies.

It's actually a decent game if you didn't play Sun and Moon. I think that people's issue with this wasn't that it wasn't a good game but that it was clearly what Sun and Moon Should have been. It just felt like Game Freak could have given this to us in the beginning or at least as a singular 3rd version instead of splitting the games into two.

I think it's a game worth getting for anyone new to Pokemon or someone that didn't play the original SM though.

Also, if you liked the story don't even bother with this one. It's not an Emerald or Platinum situation. They retconned it into a "kid saves the world from monster" plot that takes away from any positive that the original might have had.

The RR episode is also comic book tier shitty and retcons Giovanni from a cool lawful evil mafia boss into a moustache twirling villain that wants to take over the multiverse

To be fair, as fanfictiony as the RR plot is, gameplay-wise was a pretty cool novelty given that you fight the boxart ubers and it can be somewhat challenging if you've ignored the exp share
