>>39179281Just finished this game on challenge mode. Gameplay wise, I loved it. Boss battles are a good challenge with surprises in enemy movesets and hold items.
In terms of exploration the games leave a lot to be desired. The caves and routes are very simple and linear, with a few offshoots here and there down a short hallway to grab an item. This game really did start the trend of simplified overworld elements that continues today.
As for the story, I liked plasma this time around. But I couldn't really see why my character would bother with plasma before they attacked that one city. Before then, it feels more like Hugh's story with me having to help him assault them whenever he sees them. I don't give two shits about his sisters common ass purloin and I felt it was a very poor excuse to get the protagonist involved.
Ultimately gameplay is most important to me so great games with great pokemon variety, but disappointed in the dungeons and overworld.
