They could've kept Megas and Z-Moves, expanded on them, added new mechanics but instead they trashed them for Dynamaxing, which I will bet you any amount of fucking money it will be gone within the next 2 gens.
The best thing we've gotten so far is the Wild Area, it's actually fucking new. An open world area that changes day to day is a really cool idea, the execution looks shaky so far due to the seemingly empty nature and the fact that it looks like it could run on a Gamecube, but I'm willing to give it a chance.
But that's it, we're not gaining anything else for the massive amount of shit we've lost over the years.

And I willing to look past all of them if the game was just good, but in my eyes you can't have a good game if it removes half of the reason to play Pokemon, the fucking Pokemon.
I'm not saying all of this shit cause I hate these games and want them to fail, I'm saying this cause I wanted them to be good and it's just not looking that way so far. GameFreak can do better, we have evidence they can. Morimoto, Unno, Kawachimaru, they've all made great games that kept and implemented features that people adored. There's real fucking talent and ambition at GF but none of the people that have it are being put on the right stuff.
