I don’t think I’ve ever reached a point where I just don’t give a fuck about a series anymore so bravo to game freak for being the first. Pokémon died after gen 5 and now it’s grave is being danced upon after gen 7

You know, this might be a good thing. I've been sitting on my monster capture series idea because there is no point if people will scree, say I'm a rip off, and I get crushed by Pokemon. Others are probably feeling the same

We may see -mon style games exploding now that Pokemon has finally shot both its legs off

I'm not skilled in programming, but I have a knack for it when I try so I believe I shall. Think I'll try a proof of concept with a rom hack or rpgmaker game, trickiest part is figuring out leveling up moves when the monsters themselves have levels...

I've felt this way since ORAS, a friend of mine outright refused to acknowledge the series problems for the longest time, until S&S, and it's just hitting them now.

Honestly Level 5 should take this opportunity and advertise the shit out of Yokai Watch 4 whenever that gets localized. It might bring back interest to that series and hook in fans that feel like the mainline games aren't working for them anymore.

Well now I have a plan for the battle system that is realistic. This may actually work out - between the webcomic, cards, and game, I might make something that at least has a chance for once. Least monster designs won't be hard - I have thousands I've worked on over the years that I can draw from and refine
