Why are people pretending to be excited for the Alola League?

>No entry barriers to earn your way in, any nobody can sign up and enter
>No preliminary or qualifying rounds to work through, just one battle royale to narrow everything down to 16
>Ash and his friends don't even have full teams
>Once again hes not bringing back his old Pokemon to give them some time to shine again or even a surprise evolutions like Sinnoh for fanservice
>Battle Royale round only uses one Pokemon each, and it's already confirmed to be Pikachu as usual
>How many battles are even worth looking forward to? Gladion and Guzma? MAYBE Plumeria? No real rivals of note reduces the build up snd potential hype like Unova did

Even if Ash wins to finally give him a League win, what's even the point? Theres no real stakes and the competition is pretty low-level for a regional league.
But I guess they gotta try something to make this season not a total waste after the writers completely invalidated his entire reason for staying in Alola after they retconned Z Moves into only being possible in Alola.
