the game released before yw4 (busters 2) was a buggy shitfest with awful mechanics clearly rushed out to trick people into getting it for christmas
a lot of crass jokes in the anime that increased over time despite complaints. they actually aired a segment in the show called "komasan taxi" that showcased the complaints, but it felt more like a mockery of them at times. they continue to put them in to this day.
there might've been some other things, but those are the biggies. i've heard the japanese didn't like hailey anne (the girl in glasses in the earlier reply) but idk to what extent, so i can't back that one up.
