i only bothered unlocking that minigame once through stadium as a kid so I didnt remember.

Yellow was the exact point where Pokemon died though. Not because Genwun was the best, but because the moment Gamefreak learned that people will happily pay full price for a game they've already played the series was inevitably gonna decline into mediocrity.

It died before that when Blue released in Japan, if you wanna be technical.

Blue was the third version improving on Red/Green just...really slightly. Our Red is just a script dumped into Blue's game engine.
