Everybody is mad about the dynamaxing gimmick and writing it off immediately. People can't stop being butthurt over mega evolutions and z moves being removed.
But what was the general consensus when megas and z moves were first announced?

Megas announced
> complain GF isn't putting effort into new evolution lines
> temporary evolutions aren't part of the core Pokemon gameplay loop
> series is becoming digimon

Z moves announced
> pointless and OP
> brings nothing meaningful to battles
> those stupid dances
