Like, sure, what if you like Charizard, but have fond XY memories of it along with your Kalos starter? They might never be able to fight together again.
They're not great because there is no fucking payoff, either. We're never getting contests or Studios or the Frontier or the PWT or Sevii Islands/ Kanto-esque Postgame ever again. If we're lucky, we get some Legendaries in Ultra Hoopa holes, but only the Legendaries GF™ approves.
