My Sun team was Primarina, Alolan Muk, Oricorio, Mudsdale, Mimikyu, and Alolan Exeggutor. My Ultra Moon team however is incomplete and my only consistent teammates are Incineroar, Vikavolt, and Crabrawler.

Don't really have any unexpected MVP's to speak of: I was surprised by how good Mimikyu was when I expected it to be a gimmicky shitmon and Oricorio performed surprisingly well given her stats. But just about everything was as good as expected.

I will say though that Vikavolt being slow as shit was a huge surprise.

I used a Cloyster as my designated water type in ultra. Never again, such a situational mon. I was always needing a special pure water type.

A powerhouse through the whole game.
The others were great too, especially Tsareena.

Bruxish was nice too. It kinda fell off towards the end because of its frailty but was amazing all-around.
Special mention to Probopass. It was fun to use thanks to its wide movepool.

Only one I played through normally was the first, as per usual. It (Moon) had:

Can't really say there was an MVP. These games aren't that hard after all. Unless you're imposing random limitations except the random stupid difficulty spike at Ultra Necrozma you don't get an MVP.

Moon team was Inceneroar, A. Raichu, Ribombee, Vikabolt, Mimikyu and Salazzle. Lurantis was on the team before getting benched for Mimikyu. Ribombee was easily the MVP

Ultra Moon team was Decidueye, Lycanroc Midnight, Furfrou, Araquanid, Golisopod and Noivern. Furfrou was the early game MVP, Lycanroc was the mid/late and Noivern was the very late/postgame one

My mvp was by far Lurantis. It was a powerhouse that saved me from so many shitty situations.

This was my initial team around three years ago, I think I refrained from spoiling myself on the new monsters so everything was a surprise at the time. Minior was easily the best member of the bunch.

in Moon, I had vikavolt, gengar, primarina, and archeops. I must've fucked up with archeops because he sucked, and vikavolt must've had some defense/sp defense boosting nature because he was a tank and all the time I had him I don't think he fainted once

This is my US team, I originally had mawile but I think you guys meme'd on me because his stats sucked. I replaced him with metagross and picked up dedenne which Im kinda mad it only learns 2 fairytype moves. Salazzle's my unexpected MVP because she's quick and ends a battle in two turns with toxic and then venoshock.

Wishiwashi came through the hardest during the E4 though.

In Sun I used Grass Owl, Day Doggo, Punch Bear, Water Spider (later subbed out for Robot Lion), Shock Bug and Slut Lizard.
Honestly, Vikavolt was a very welcome surprise; I really started loving it after using it on my first Alola run. Araquanid was better than I expected and Salazzle surprised as well, though I already expected good things from it.

While I did pirate both Ultra games for nuzlocking and shit, I didn't limit myself to Gen 7 mons like I did on my first run. Of those, I was pleasantly surprised by Alolan Ninetales. Very fun mon to use, especially since I usually don't run Ice-types.
