Nah it was complete shit. BW1 was a mistake but BW2 was alright.
Having real Pokémon to use instead of the native fakemon really made the game a lot better.

Pokedex was a shitty rehash of gen 1, cities were samey, competative sucked, and the moving sprites looked trash. It did have the best protagonists and BW2 had a ton of content.
