From my experiences, there are largely 2 groups of people who hate gen 5. The first and most obvious group are the normies who played Pokemon during gen 1 then never touched it again until GO came out. The other group who hates gen 5, for reasons I can't quite ascertain, are kids whose first games were XY.

The good thing, at least for me, about lando is the range of sets he can run, it is a fun mon to play with and I dont remember any set that's completely overpower so just respect it

it's not that I dislike machamp, I actually do like it, the problem is that it was made when pokemon was not really well defined and it's continued existance is a free ticket for designers to justify more clothing pokemon. Ideally they would redesign clothing-mon so that their clothing is a part of them instead, sorta like greninja's tongue scarf or gardevoir's dress

the sprites are really shitty so a lot of people's first impressions of the Pokemon are negative. the critical path is linear and the Pokemon placement is poor. Overall it's not very comfy like gens 3 & 4, but Black 2 fixes that a little. It's just a feel thing
