That makes no sense, why would Nintendo, the sole beneficiary of Yokoi's excellent work that more or less printed money for them, arrange for him to be killed. The man was a genius in his field, and Nintendo was to reap all the rewards for his work. That's like saying the rest of Nirvana convinced Cobain to kill himself when at that point they were on top of the mountain.

Unfortunately, such optimism is misplaced. Masuda's one of the biggest players at Game Freak. Giving him the boot isn't as simple as axing some peon or something. Who knows though. If Konami can get Kojima to fuck off then anything's possible I guess.

If sword and shield doesn’t meet sales expectations then ohmori is the one who will get the brunt of game freak and nintendo’s wrath and rifghtfully so. Man was responsible for the the 7th gen and all the problems associates with gen 8 is probably his fault too
