Reminder that, since whenever you save in game or trade/transfer you are effectively overwriting you old Pokemon with new ones, every Pokémon you own is basically a “ship of Theseus”.

A brand new bit of data overlaps the old one but keeps the same PID, meaning that “the pokemon youve had for 10 years” isn’t actually ten years old, its as old as your last save.

Whats important is the memories made along the way, and transferred Pokemon are more imaginary totemic good luck charms than real bits of concrete data.
