Fans weren't too happy with ORAS, then Z never came along and we get SM instead, shafting Zygarde.
USUM barely change anything, and what SM should have been from the start.
Let's GO made it worse: The majority of older fans don't want another Kanto remake. I think it's safe to assume that we are tired of Kanto pandering, but Gamefreak chooses to focus on its target audience: Kids and older, casual fans who only played the first two generation.
SWSH's hype was huge. We've been waiting for Pokemon to come in a home console, better yet, Switch made it possible to be both ways... a home console and handheld.
So, what did we get?
- city = standard graphics for switch, kinda average.
- wild area = while i love the addition of overworld encounters, the graphics are horrible, and isn't worthy for a game in Switch, which can run BoTW. Granted, it says "game footage not final" but that's just a funny way of saying, "haha we haven't finished the game yet get fucked"
- Pokemon animations = upscaled models from SM/USUM, animations are barely better, we long for Pokemon to move depending on what they use, but instead we got just a little jump or barely a movement. This isn't fidelity. This isn't high quality animations. This is laziness and cutting corners!
- Story and dialogues = asinine. Dumbed down to a five year old level of conversation.
- Hotel = Trivago
So if you are still buying this, I hope you know that if you keep fueling GF to do this shit instead of planting your foot down and say "No, this is not acceptable", you are killing this franchise. I'm sorry, but you are part of the problem. I'm not saying you shouldn't buy them, but please buy them used. Don't give these people your money when they come up with shit that doesn't worth your $60.
