Emerald was in Hoenn which is the biggest region, pretty good adventure and the Battle FRontier to let you become a Frontier Brain which felt like real progress lorewise, the games usually just end saying "Yeah you're a champion" and not much else to do with all that power.
Platinum again had the Battle Frontier and that gen introduced the split so it's pretty important to the franchise (Nu Gamefreak would just claim the Split was due to magical stones on Sinnoh and ignore it as a gimmick for future games).
HGSS had 2 regions and all the best features at the time and BW2 can be considered the best Pokemon games.
We never got a spike in quality during the entire life of the 3DS so it's human to not trust Gamefreak.None of those games can be said to be the best at anything and the only relevant new mechanic, Megas, tturned out to be a gimmick like walking Pokemon and rematches.
I'm seething but at least faggots here complain all day long, it's a relief to see not everyone eats this shit up
