Remember that time 20 years ago when the PS1 Yu-Gi-Oh game, which predates both the traditional TCG rules and the anime and their popularity/success, had 3D models and several animations for every of the ~620 monster cards? Good times, what's Game Freak's excuse?

Are you being purposefully obtuse? I'm talking about YGO's 'overworld' being barebones if not totally nonexistent, in video games.

Well Forbidden Memories didn't exactly have an overworld but all the unique art it had probably took up more space than Pokemon tiles even up to gen 4. The newer YGO games had overworlds exactly like the ones in Pokemon.

They literally don't want every pokemon in every game. They want to hand pick a dex for each region so that players aren't using the same pokemon every game. I'm not defending this decision, btw, its absolutely retarded and shoots themselves in the foot multiple times

Creatures, inc covers the Pokemon themselves which GF coordinates with but GF has to learn eventually otherwise why even call Pokemon theirs?

I've played some of them, and those are just glorified monopoly boards. My point is all this old shit you guys are digging up to meme on how the game looks makes no sense being compared to Pokemon and looks like a poor attempt to fit in.

If people want to use different monsters on a different playthrough, that should be their choice. Besides, you can easily get away with reusing the same mons for numerous Pokemon games with things like Zubat and Geodude. Honestly, making every monster obtainable in a single game gives far more options so that you have way more possibilities to make completely different teams.

I hope you're just talking about Creatures creating the models and not designing the pokemon themselves, which is true, but by outsourcing I mean literally letting another company code and program the game (just like Genius Sorority did with the GC games)

If they gave the game to another studio to work on, that would give years of time for GF to polish on their development skills (even though they should already meet expectations or just hire more people) and TPCi/Nintendo wouldn't force them to rush out a game every year.

I'm assuming you're talking about Duelist of the Rose. While the game was straight kino, they hardly have any animations to it and there are only battles. There's no much else to the game

Yes, obviously, especially when 'glaring problems' is just pleader talk for an exaggeration of an issue that fags want to feel special for calling attention to.

That's the thing, the GC games weren't mainline, as GF is responsible for.
TPCi would push them to rush out a game every year regardless, Pokemon is a cash cow that can always be depended on for sales on a device, which is literally why their release dates are consistently just before the holiday season.
