Oh, these. They're just novelizations of the TV show episodes released a few years back. All of the reprint covers have stock art of Ash on the front. I assume they were designed by someone who doesn't know anything about Pokemon and just slaps a random image of Ash, a background, and sometimes a Pokemon on the front without much regard for how they're arranged.
