Basically with the success of Pokemon Go TPC is wanting to invest more in mobile gaming. (because €$¥) This has GF unsure of what their future relationship with TPC will look like. As a result GF is hedging their bets by splitting their attention between Sw/Sh and their new game Town. It is possible that if Masters is any where near as successful as Pokemon Go we may see GF put less focus on the main series of games and more focus into developing a safety net. Honestly though this seems like suicide. I would be trying to impress the masses with better and better main series games if I was concerned about keeping my contract with TPC.
