We have something similar in my hometown, they are called "enamorados". They look exactly like the ones in your pic and are filled with a weird white cream. They are too sweet and you always make a mess when you eat them. So no, they're shit.

Malasadas are inspired by the Portuguese food. That word itself is the combination of two portuguese words. So whatever you eat inspired by Malasadas, they should be filled with lots of jelly unless stated otherwise and in that case they are completely dry.
