I think the problem stems from GF's power hierarchies, its general management for the past 15 years, the refusal to move forward at all and the business/technological decisions that have been made over the course of the franchise's history. In the same fashion, I'm not really of the opinion that GF is lazy as much as they are simply too incompetent. I don't believe that if Masuda or Ohmori or anybody else were out of the picture, the games would turn out any better. At this point, I think that the general competence and skill of the developers, the artists and the decision makers within the company is such dogshit that you'd have to seriously restructure everything. Mind you, I don't really wanna shield GF from any justified criticism or rage, I don't really care. It's not like I'm gonna buy any of their products for the foreseeable future anyway. I guess, in the end, I don't really believe that anything GF/Masuda does is malicious (like intentionally lying for example). I just think think they're trying to mask how terrible the company has been run. And honestly, why wouldn't you if you were in their place.
