>One person instantly = the entire group associated by it
I'm more interested in seeing whether that will inadvertently unearth something we didn't expect in that spectrum. I'm not saying that the man deserves it though, unless he really did something bad.
I grew with the franchise and I still like a lot of the pokemon designs. I don't associate artists with the company since they are, quite legitimately, paid to come up with designs and work with them.
That said, it's definitely been downhill ever since the iconic MASUDAAAA started in the internet and even though it technically shouldn't be wrong to be selective regarding National Dex and the lack thereof, this is the bloody Switch we're talking about.
We're no longer in the 3DS era, Game Freak/Pokemon Company are a multi-billion company (fucking hell, I'm not even sure how much they've made now with the games) and they just decide to do this simply because it's easier on them and because it GRANTS them reasons to come up with even more unnecessary sequels (not so much remakes) to cash on fans. They're STILL using the models from the XY days and they've still not upped their programmers enough to not force fucking labor on them.
It's not the programmers' fault either, they can only do so much as well, it's the BIG HEADS in Game Freak that allow themselves to take advantage of the franchises' big success to act and be lazy, while cutting bloody corners and putting their employees under fire in case any controversy happens (like #NationalDex) when employees can only have SO MUCH SKILL to handle the depth and massiveness of the game itself in order to please the fans.
