If they had basically unlimited time to make a Pokémon game, would it be good? I think churning out yearly games is a big contributor to why the mainline games are getting worse and worse.

GameFreak have always been incredibly incompetent, not just with coding, but also with handling things overall. Rmember the demos of the 3DS where people datamined the games and found every single mega and every single Pokemon in the coding?

Pokemon never had a problem with annual games and quality control until the 3DS games. XY never got a third game, ORAS gutted out nearly everything Emerald added to RS, the differences between SM and USUM were extremely insignificant, and most of the groundwork for LGPE already existed prior to development starting. They're just incompetent and have zero love for the franchise and know they can get away with corner-cutting since it will still make a billion dollars because of children and the older audience being bleating sheep.
